Life Casting by David Parvin

I finally had my life casting done with artist David Parvin. His bronze casting are simply stunning and I cannot wait to see the final product displayed at the Miss Teen Colorado- World pageant!
What an experience. My hair was coated with a thick conditioner and I was covered in layers of plaster. I had two nostril holes to breath out of and had to stand completely still... Knowing me, that was a difficult task! Almost immediately after taking the casting off, David poured a plaster version which he will correct any imperfections before doing the final bronze version.
It was so odd and so funny to see myself in that form. I am so thrilled with how it came out and could not be happier with experience with David Parvin and his lovely assistant.

Veteran's Hospital

This Valentine’s Day, I had the privilege of spending the day with our servicemen at the Veteran’s Hospital in Denver. It is so easy for us all to forget just how lucky we are to have the rights and freedoms that we do, and nothing brought that home more than witnessing first hand the sacrifices our Vets and their families have made. I am so truly blessed to have been given this opportunity which has changed my life forever.
Just a few days after undergoing a 22 hour facial surgery, I was met with all smiles by one man and his lovely wife who had been by his side since arriving from Montana. The nearly day-long operation required surgeons to stay through the night and into the next day to finish what they had started. However, meeting this Vet and his wife you could only see their gratitude and appreciation for life.
Every room I entered I was told told stories of their lives... not just of their days serving our country, but of their families, their careers after being discharged and their hobbies. One man was the designer for the Nebraska state quarter and sent me home with my very own to remember him by.
The stories I heard the people I met that day have truly inspired me to act more selflessly and live each day more fully.

Flawless, Timeless and Blue Bridal Boutique!

I recently booked a job modeling for a brand new bridal boutique in Denver, Flawless, Timeless and Blue Bridal Boutique. I had so much fun playing dress up, getting my make-up and hair done with Lindsay Schneider and trying on the amazing head pieces provided by Kitty Mae. Check out some of the pictures they will be using in their advertising!

Some of My Best Friends are Beauty Queens

Some of My Best Friends are Beauty Queens release party and autograph signing was one of the most inspiring events I have attended all year. Author, Tricia Dampier is an incredible woman who has used her years in pageantry and the women she has met along the way to develop an appreciation for life, and an enthusiasm for each day. The book was amazing, and provides a behind the scenes perspective. It was an easy read with each story provided guidance in different ways.

I fully recommend this for your next good-read or as a gift... but get the tissues out;)
